COVER IT UP

The perfect cover-up is essential for summer. I do not skimp on this staple. I end up wearing it all of the time, and since it needs a wash each time, so you don't want a cheap one that will fall apart mid summer.

Here is a list of my criteria:

1. I MUST be able to wear it on errands to/from the pool

2. It looks ok if it's a bit wet

3. Can.not.hug.my.body.

Dang it, it's swimsuit time

I don't know about you, but my first thought of summer comes with a little wince. 
"Why?", you say.
Because it's swimsuit time. Ugh.
Not only is it tough to find a suit that looks good, but there is that "age appropriate" issue. 
Today's post is dedicated to all of the moms looking for not only a cute suit, but one that actually works when you are jumping in and out of the pool, chasing after kids, and just can't sit around in that cute cover-up. 


First up is the Magic Suit. I have it and dare I say "I love it"? Yes, I love a swimsuit. Never thought I would say that. It's a Tankini, it's flattering, and it makes "the girls" look pretty darn perky.

Shopping the Sunday Sale

Sunday is my "weakness day" for online shopping, and the new Nordstrom sale markdowns are not helping my problem!
I don't want to be in this alone, so here are some of my favorite new additions just to help you along your way....

SUNLESS TAN

The older I get, the more I know how important it is to stay out of the sun. But, I just don't have that milky white skin that looks even close to good without a tan. That's ok for the winter time, but during the summer I just can't take it.

If you're anything like me, you have spent countless dollars finding the most natural looking tan. There is a fine line between looking tan and looking orange. Ya feel me?

Here are my favorite choices for face and body, and none will break the bank.

FACE

This isn't a tanner but rather an illuminator. I use it after my makeup is on just on my cheeks and the bridge of my nose. It will give you that perfect glow. I.AM.OBSESSED.

I love the Mac powder bronzer. It looks much darker in the case than it will look when applied. It doesn't have too much shimmer, and really just looks like a very natural hint of tan.

BODY

Now for the really tricky part. I used the think the more money I was spending the better the product, but that just hasn't proven true for me. In fact, quite opposite sometimes, especially for this first option, the tan towels. After two days of application, I have a pretty darn good tan.

Day to Night

I have a new go-to dress for Spring/Summer and I am obsessed. This is one of those "if I could wear it every day I would" kind of dresses. I have been wearing it super casual with a bootie, but I plan on dressing it up for a night out with my new edgy heel.
