I have a deep love for sweaters and coats, and, along with shoes, it's probably where I get myself into the most trouble during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
This year the coat selection, in particular, has some AMAZING deals. I know it's tough to think "cozy outerwear" in the middle of summer, but it's worth it for these deals.

Memorial Day Finds Under $60

Happy Monday! Who else is already looking forward to the holiday weekend? I'm ready to give this work week my all, but cannot help but get excited about Memorial Day weekend! 

Much like the 4th of July, I tend to think of this holiday as a weekend that's best spent by the water whether it's a pool or the lake. To make the weekend even more fun, I typically dress the part by wearing red, white, or blue. It's a good excuse to be patriotic!

What is it about a change in weather that makes you want to completely redecorate your home? It seems like every time the weather gets warm i want to change out my lamps, get a new rug, etc., and then the same thing happens again when it starts to get cold in the Fall.

Over the past couple of years I've learned that instead of squelching this desire altogether or spending tons of money redoing a room, there can some middle ground. Updating your smaller home decor, those little accents in each room is an easy and cost effective way to help your rooms and your home transition with the seasons.

Some of the easiest things to change out happen to be some of the cheapest - things like your trinket trays or lamp shades. For example, replacing your trinket tray with this yellow one from Draper James would not only serve a practical purpose, but it would brighten your room. Another easy option would be to swap out your darker colored vases for a brighter, lighter colored one like this geo ceramic vase.

Happy Tuesday!! Lately it feels like all I can think about is summer vacation. I love traveling in the summer because it lends itself to so many different types of excursions - beach trips, hiking in the mountains, camping trips, staycations, long weekend getaways, and just exploring some national hot spots. 

As I begin to prepare for some upcoming trips, I noticed I've found myself trying to find some items that are not only easy to travel with, but will make my travel experience lighter and easier. I want to invest in items that I can take with me no matter where I am traveling.

Spring Athleisure under $100

Happy Saturday!! We hope you're all having a great weekend so far and if you're a mother, then we want to wish you an early Happy Mother's Day!

Raise your hand if you are loving this athleisure trend? All hands should be raised. This trend has to be one of the best because it essentially gives us women the "okay" to wear what we're already wearing in public. I mean, I can't tell you how many times I go to yoga in the morning and then end up wearing my leggings and a athletic top all day for grocery shopping, running errands, and yes, even meeting up with friends for a drink.

Besides given women (and men) even more of a reason to dress comfortably in public, this athleisure trend does elevate it a bit. Now we're starting to see t-shirt dresses, trendy tennis shoes, and more stylish tees. For the most part I live in my Zella leggings during the week, but I know if I had an athleisure dress like one of the ones pictured above I would probably wear it non-stop.

Swim Trend: The One-Piece

Happy Tuesday!! Today's post is about the latest swimwear trend - the one-piece bathing suit!! Of course bikinis will never go out of style, but with the one-suit trending now, it's brought about another good option for women.

One-piece suits started trending last summer and are back again this summer. Traditionally, when I think of one-pieces I picture the solid color suit I used to wear for swim team. Nothing fancy, no trendy details, and definitely not prints. I also pictured only moms wearing one-piece suits. Thankfully, all that has changed. One-pieces are colorful, have trendy cuts, and are worn by women of all ages from their 20s and on and body type doesn't matter!

I'm headed to the beach in a couple of days with my family and am so thankful that one-pieces are trending. As a young mom, I love that I can wear a suit that still makes me feel confident and attractive and yet I'm covered enough that I can run around with my toddlers on the beach and not have to worry about anything falling out. Happy Tuesday!! I hope you all had a great holiday weekend! Is it just me or does it officially feel like Spring now? Flowers are blooming, families are going on evening walks, and porches are full for happy hour. I can't help but smile just thinking about warm weather and summer on the horizon! 

I'm sure you've heard me say it before, but warm weather also means the return of rompers! I honestly think it's impossible to have too many rompers. They are such an easy way to make a statement without putting forth any effort. They're comfortable, can be dressed up, can be dressed down, and or worn simple to lounge in.

Gingham season is finally here and you can't miss it!! We're seeing gingham in everything from bathing suits to shoes to clothes. The neat thing about a trend like this is that you can so easily adapt it to your style and to your body type. I tend to gravitate toward the more feminine gingham pieces, but there really is something for everyone whether it's a skirt, a pair of ruffle shorts, or a tailored button down.

Another nice thing about a trend that's a print like gingham rather than a certain cut or style of clothing is that you can easily find a piece that fits in your budget. Happy Hump Day! Today's post is all about how to take your clothing from Spring to Summer. One of the easiest ways to save money on clothes, but still stay on trend is to opt for basics. Once you have some good basics to work with like the dress pictured above, you style it to your liking and let your accessories do the talking!

Let's take this coral dress for example. Although bright and cheery, this dress is a solid color, which is key when stalking up on basics; avoid loud prints and opt for solids, you'll get more wear out of them. Starting with a blank canvas allows you to create whatever look you're going for. 

For example, for Spring we added some fun wedges and a denim jacket for those cooler nights. We added a bright clutch as a nod to warmer weather on the horizon, and then made the finishing touches with some fun earrings and tassel necklace. For Summer, we went with an easier beach look by adding some fun sandals, a straw clutch, and some statement earrings.

Spring's Most Popular, Most Affordable Wedges

Happy Monday!! I hope you all had an amazing weekend and are rested and rejuvenated for the week ahead! We're ready to tackle the week head on, but not without a cute pair of shoes!! 

Speaking of shoes, one could argue that wedges are the best spring/summer shoe! For starters, they can be worn at any age. If you're in your 20s you can opt for a more drastic, taller wedge and if you're older, you can opt for a flatter wedge, or a "flatform" as they're called now. Either way, wedges have to be the most comfortable sandal and they are so trendy! Whether you go the classic rough or resonate with the more vibrant colored wedges, there's an option for you!

The Easiest Way to Make a Fashion Statement

Happy Hump Day!!! With Spring finally here, it will only be a matter of weeks or even days for some of you before we all start grabbing for that white sundress or those denim shorts instead of our sweaters. It's already reached the 90s a couple of times here in Dallas, so my sundresses are ready to go!

Another sign that Spring is here is the introduction of bright colors! Whether you're a jeans and a white tee gal or a sundress girl, you can invite Spring into your wardrobe by adding a fun pair of Fiesta Fringe Drops or  a big turquoise necklace. One of the easiest ways to add a statement to your outfit thought is by adding a fun clutch! Denim Edit: Spring's Most Popular Denim

Happy Monday!! I hope you all had a great weekend! When porches start to get crowded, the trees start blooming, and sandals become a wardrobe staple, you know that Spring is officially here! With Spring comes new trends and some of the best trends this season involve jeans.

The denim trends for Spring are so varied that you're bound to find one that fits your personal style. The biggest denim trends right now are wide leg jean, bootcut denim, flares, cropped denim, distressed denim, uneven hems, frayed hems, and boyfriend or girlfriend jeans. There's so much to choose from!

Whenever there are a lot of trends like there are in denim right now, some of which make more of a statement than others, I highly recommend going with those trends that flatter your body type. For example, being 5'2" with a short waistline, boyfriend jeans ten to swallow me up and make me look larger than I really am. While I think it's such a cute trend, it is just one that doesn't work for my body type. The Most Versatile Summer Dress

Happy Hump Day!! It's not every day you can find a dress for under $30 that can be worn in so many different ways. I stumbled across this dress a couple of weeks ago and couldn't wait to share it with you all!! The material is super soft and not see through at all, and lends itself to so many different styling options.

I styled it pretty casually here with some basic white sandals and my go-to necklace as of late. Side not - this necklace is such a hit every time I wear it and goes with more colors than you might think - I highly recommend it! Anyway, I think this dress would be adorable with some cute wedges and a denim jacket, too. I also plan on taking it to the beach with me in a couple of weeks and wearing it as a coverup.

One of Spring's Biggest Trends: Embroidery

Happy Monday!! I hope you all have had a giant cup of coffee and are ready to conquer your week! Can you believe today is the first official day of Spring!? I feel like there's really no better way to ring in the new season then to talk about one of Spring's biggest trends - embroidery!

Embroidery is actually one of my favorite trends this season simply because it fits anyone and everyone's style. Embroidery is literally on everything - bags, tops, dresses, jeans, skirts, etc., which makes it so easy to pick and choose what embroidered item fits your style. I opted for a casual embroidered tee as I'm usually running around town with my girls, but you could wear an embroidered dress, some embroidered denim, or even an embroidered collar shirt. It's so fun!
